Top 4 Ways to enjoy Winter Strawberry Season in South Korea
From December to June you can enjoy Strawberries almost everywhere in Korea! I absolutely LOVE the sweet Korean strawberries and I want to share with you guys the best ways to eat Strawberries!
1. Strawberry Bingsu!
Mango Bingsu, Blueberry Cheesecake Bingsu, and Melon Bingsu with some Green tea ice cream.
Bingsu is a Korean dessert that is made out of shaved ice, it’s super popular here, especially during Summer but because it’s so delicious I even eat it (indoors of course) during the cold winter. There are many different flavors. The “original” or the more traditional Bingsu would be the Red bean Bingsu called Patbingsu. But nowadays they also make Bingsu with other sweet toppings such as chopped fruit with condensed milk, fruit syrup, and sometimes I notice they even sneak in little red beans and tteok (rice cake) inside the Bingsu. My favorite Bingsu flavors are chocolate, Oreo cookie, mango, green tea, and #STRAWBERRY! <3
2. Visit a Strawberry Picking Farm!
What better way to enjoy strawberries than picking your OWN fresh, pretty, sweet and delicious strawberries? When I visited the farm it was so calm and warm inside, the owner was so kind and explained to us how to pick it in the right way and helped us to find the best looking and tasty ones. We even got to try different strawberry jams with crackers! And I heard from other friends that they can make a strawberry pizza? During certain periods. I’m a bit skeptical about the flavor, but hey don’t miss the chance to try if you get it! When you’re done picking you can take home your box with 500g of strawberries. It’s a very fun experience that I recommend you to try with your friends. Click the link below to see some Strawberry Picking Tour Packages:
3. Try the New Signature Drinks at Your Favorite Café

During the Strawberry Season, the big Café chains promote their signature Strawberry drinks! They often make some really creative combinations, many of the ones I tried were SO good! I had a Strawberry Choco Pie Frappe once and that was probably my absolute favorite combo. Here are just a few of the bigger café chains in Korea you should try out: Angel in us, Hollys, Caffe Pascucci, Caffé Bene, and more. And of course, there are many smaller cafés who also make delicious strawberry drinks, it won’t be a problem to find a good place in Seoul!
4. Strawberry Buffet: Spoil yourself for a day at a luxury hotel!
If you LOVE Strawberries like me, there is a chance to eat as much as you would like at a Strawberry Dessert Buffet! You usually can find these nice Buffets at 5-star hotels such as JW Marriot, Sheraton, Ritz Carlton and more. You probably need to book in advance and weekends could be more expensive than weekdays so make sure to plan ahead. It was expensive but worth every penny, just look at these pictures!
