1) Easy Activation & Identity Verification Steps
To use free voice and SMS receiving services, Korean telecommunications law requires passport verification. You can complete this entirely online as soon as you touch down in South Korea:
- Step 1: Scan the QR code from your email to install the eSIM after arriving in Korea.
- Step 2: Go directly to the official SKT verification page (skroaming.com/passport).
- Step 3: Fill in your assigned Korean mobile number, contract number (found on your KTE voucher), and upload your passport photo. Done!
2) Supported Devices and Compatibility Check
Please ensure your mobile device is carrier-unlocked and natively supports eSIM technology. Generally, the following models are fully ready:

3) Important Usage Reminders
The old free outgoing voice balance promotions are officially discontinued for all new orders. Outgoing calls/SMS require a separate prepaid top-up after passport verification. If you face any signal drops, setup issues, or require balance check-ups, please immediately visit the official SKT Roaming Centers conveniently located at the arrival halls of Incheon (T1/T2), Gimpo, or Gimhae airports.

Worked perfectly! I activated the QR code before departing to Korea, and the validity triggered only from the moment the eSIM connected to the SK provider once I landed in Seoul (5PM Seoul time, 22nd August). The validity then counts from that moment on for 10x 24 hours, so the SIM only disconnected on the same hour 10 days later (5PM Seoul time, 1st September). Worked perfectly during all my stay.
