This great ceramics class/workshop is led by Zino, the hearing-impaired teacher at Studio Zino. Foreigners from all over the world have come and enjoyed Studio Zino, a place where both, people with disabilities and non-disabled people can participate and experience the whole process of making ceramics together from a hands-on spinning wheel experience to a kiln tour. In this class, you will be making your own flute and cup! You will be trying out the pottery spinning wheel, enjoy Zino’s magic performance and finally wrap up the class with some tea & refreshments and a nice chat.

Overview
Welcome to Studio Zino!
Studio Zino is a place where both, people with disabilities and non-disabled people can
participate in the process of making ceramics together. Zino, who has a hearing and intellectual
disability, is a ceramic artist, a teacher at Studio Zino and he also performs magic!
Studio Zino has everything you need for a great hands-on experience, from a ceramic
room to a spinning wheel and kiln. Come, visit Studio Zino for a great opportunity to
see and experience the whole process of making ceramics!
You will make a small ceramic flute that will sound loud and clear and can reach volumes of over 80 dB! In fact,
you could even use this small flute to protect yourself and call for help in case of an emergency.
Also, you will make a Sublimation cup to take home on that day!
The Heartwarming story behind Zino’s Studio!
At the age of five, Zino lost his parents at a train station because he wasn’t able to
hear his parents’ desperate shouts as they tried to look for him. Zino started to
make small flutes with the hope that no other child had to go through his pain.
Zino became very attached to the flutes he made. This led him to challenge
himself to become a teacher to share the happiness of making flutes with others.
For him, becoming a teacher was a big challenge that required a lot of courage
and patience because of his difficulties in hearing and interacting with students.
This is why Zino’s class is a bit different from others. Zino starts his fun class with
a magic performance and then teaches how to make a ceramic flute through
Powerpoint slides. Zino’s sincere effort, rather than a fluent conversation, is the
one key factor that enables him to interact with and get close to his students.
Zino will also be starting a new class in different languages. Please support Zino

You will be working 1 flute and 1 cup - You can only take 1 cup to your home and if you want, you can also take the clay flute without baking (Before becoming Ceramic).
The same price applies to adults and children. Children may participate together with their parents.

You can only take the cup you made on that day! If you would like to take the flute, you can take as the clay flute before becoming a Ceramic.

Had a lot of fun! Loved the venue! The shelves in the art studio are full of beautiful ceramic pieces, everyone was very welcoming and friendly. We made flutes, enjoyed a magic performance and decorated the cups! The instructor was very nice and guided us through the process of making our own fish-shaped flute. We got to try them out right away and they worked! If you have a favorite fish, you can customize your design and make a whale/dolphin/shark/etc. How fun is that? As adults we rarely get to make things with our own hands and to play with clay. This experience was fun and relaxing! Absolutely recommend it! After finishing up with our flutes we were given paper and crayons to draw a design to be printed on our cups. They use a special machine that transfers your drawing onto the cup. It’s a great souvenir to take home and to give to your friends and loved ones! Be creative, be bold, and don’t be afraid to use bright colors! We loved how ours turned out! Whether you are a child or an adult, you are going to have a great time here!

I got to make a cute dolphin shaped flute together with zino who is such a funny and kind guy! And he even did a cool magic show for us! I would recommend this lesson for those who never tried ceramics before and just want to try to make something easy^^
