The DMZ is a popular tourist destination, with visitors coming to see the Joint Security Area, where North and South Korean soldiers stand face to face, and to visit other sites such as the Observatory, which provides a view of North Korea across the border
Four Different Tour Options Available:
1) Gimpo DMZ (Not operated from 24 April 2024)
2) Paju DMZ – 3rd Tunnel
3) Paju DMZ – Camp Greaves
4) Cheorwon DMZ
About DMZ
The DMZ, or Demilitarized Zone, is approximately 4 kilometers wide and is designed to serve as a buffer zone between the two countries (South and North Korea). It is one of the most heavily militarized borders in the world, with barbed wire fences, landmines, and military installations on both sides.
It is also home to a unique ecosystem that has developed over the years due to the absence of human activity. It has become a sanctuary for many rare and endangered species of plants and animals.
our DMZ Tour Highlights:
Unlike other common DMZ tours, this DMZ tour offers more diverse experiences in several regional DMZs, such as Gimpo, Paju, and Cheorwon.
1. Gimpo DMZ Tour (Not operated from 24 April 2024)
The highlight of the Gimpo DMZ tour is visiting the observatory, which is the closest to Seoul and the closest to see North Korea. You can use the telescope at the observatory to see North Koreans living. Also, you can go inside the battleship that participated in the actual battlefield and see the vividness of the Korean navy’s actual life.
2. Paju DMZ – 3rd Tunnel Tour
Embark on an unforgettable journey through history and heritage on our exclusive Paju DMZ tour in Korea. Begin your adventure at Imjingak, a park symbolizing the hopes for reunification, before venturing to the historic Freedom Bridge, a poignant testament to the Korean War. Add an optional ride on the Peace Gondola for a unique perspective on this iconic landscape.
The pinnacle of the tour is an awe-inspiring visit to the 3rd Tunnel, a clandestine passageway burrowed beneath the DMZ. Cap off your day at the Dora Observatory, where you can gaze across the border into North Korean territory, a thrilling glimpse into a land veiled in mystery.
3. Paju DMZ – Camp Greaves Tour
Unlike other DMZ tours, Paju DMZ Tour offers you a different experience. Camp Greaves, located in the DMZ in Paju, was the place where U.S. troops were stationed during the Korean War, and was returned to the Korean government after the armistice agreement.
Currently, it has been transformed into a peace and security experience facility, where you can experience special activities such as making your own ‘Dog Tag(soldiers’ metal chain identification)’ and wearing military uniforms. In addition, you can observe North Korean land from the Odusan Observatory.
4. Cheorwon DMZ Tour
The Cheorwon DMZ tour will visit several places, including the Labor Party Building, the Battlefield of the White Horse Hill, Goseokjeong pavilion and the Peace Observatory.
The Labor Party building was actually used by North Korea in the past, and there were lots of marks of bullets during the Korean War, so you can feel the vividness of the war.
Some days, people can’t visit due to the national security situation. The Battlefield of the White Horse Hill is the place where the fiercest battle took place in the Korean War, and there are still many remains that have not been found.
As a highlight of this tour, you will explore the 150m deep 2nd Tunnel located right under DMZ.

The tour was arranged well and the viewings in the Ecopark and observatory were great. Also the battleship was nice to see but I prefer a shorter time between both locations and skip the fishmarket..it doesn’t match with the tour. But overall nice to experience
