A Winter Get-away in Pocheon

This one-day winter trip will take you to Pocheon, a suburban city located two-hour drive away from Seoul that offers spectacular natural landscape made up of mountains and lakes. Pocheon has been known as a popular weekend away destination for people who live in Seoul and the nearby areas. Among many great places in Pocheon, on this trip, you will be spending your time with the snow at Bears Town Ski Resort and beautiful herbal plants in Herb Island.

Bears Town is the largest resort in the Seoul’s neighborhood area and is also the first ski resort in the country that has received ISO certificate. There are many amusement facilities including snow sledding slope, outdoor swimming pool and grass slide for an exciting year-round leisure time. During winter, the snow sled is available for everyone to enjoy. The 400m slope-length snow sled is an exciting ride that would bring about so much joy for families and groups of friends. There is also a separate infant sled so that even little kids can have some fun with the snow.

Our second destination, Herb Island was founded in 1998. It is not only a normal botanical garden but can also be considered a “herb theme park”. Revolving around the theme “Herb in daily life”, it features an indoor garden, an outdoor greenhouse, herbal restaurant and herbal café. You can discover various types of herbal plants and flowers as well as enjoy the beautiful natural scenery. The foods and drinks offered at the restaurant and café here are also very special as they are infused with herbs that are good for your health. During this winter season, the Herbal Island Light Festival is a must-see highlight of this place! The festival features about 3 million lights that create a romantic and magical atmosphere as in a fairytale. You can enjoy the mesmerizing feast of lights and colors and take many beautiful photos with your friends!
